And sleep comes, with a knife, fork and a spoon.


Once, there were some people on an island. They were Love, Vanity, Wealth, Sorrow, Happiness and etc.

One day, they realised that the island was sinking. They all decided to flee the island. Everyone left except for Love. Love could find no way to escape. Thus, Love decided to wait on the shore, in the hope that a passing ship would bring him to safety.

After some time, Happiness passed by in a bright, cheery ship. Love called out "Happiness, could you take me along?" But Happiness replied, "I'm sorry, Love. My ship is too full of joy." So Happiness sailed away and Love continued to wait.

Then, along came Wealth in his huge ship that was covered in gold, silver and precious stones. Once again, Love pleaded, "Wealth, could you take me along?" But Wealth replied, "Oh, no. I've got too much money and riches stored in this ship. I'm afraid there isn't room for you." So Wealth sailed away and Love continued to wait.

Next, Vanity passed by. She had a beautiful ship that was covered in pink and purple. And again, Love begged. "Vanity, could you take me along?" But Vanity replied, "This ship is too superior for you to come on it!" So Vanity sailed away and Love continued to wait.

Meanwhile, Love discovered that Sorrow had not left the island either. So Love told Sorrow "Let's find away to escape. It's no use just sitting here and wallowing in self pity!" But Sorrow replied, "Go away. Just leave me alone. The world is about to end and we all know it." So Love walked away, and sat on the shore. Despondent, for no one valued Love.

Suddenly, there was a voice that called out to Love. It said "Come Love, follow me. I will bring you to safety." Love followed the voice, and finally got onto a ship.

The ship sailed Love into a sanctuary, where all the rest were. Then, the person that saved Love got off the ship, and without a word, walked away.

Love was curious to know who saved his life. So Love went to Knowledge and asked "Knowledge, who is that, walking away in the distance?" Knowledge smiled and replied, "Why, him? That is Time, my dear." Love was puzzled. "Why Time? And why was he willing to save me?"
