The Blue and Grey Pride.
This post is really late. But as long as my voice remains sexy, I'm not too late :D
Nationals was a blast. Sports School bagged the Double Champ title, which was kind of expected. But we didn't do all that bad either. And very much exceeding expectations. The best of my 4 years in Cedar, and I'm glad it's my graduating year. Maybe 50th Anniversary isn't that bad after all; we just got to find the right things to be celebrating over.
Wednesday saw animals, lots at the stadium. Of these, prolly the most worth mentioning is the darkhorse. Tsk, Nanyang. How in the world did they rise? It's a total wonder. Watching her crush Jiayuan was absolutely unbearable ): But 4x400m pretty much made up for that; the last 100m was seriously a battle between Cedar, St Nicholas and Nanyang. What a sight, really. But I know Jiayuan pushed, harder than ever before. So all the more, why I couldn't hold back the tears when we came in 3rd. Slightly behind Nanyang, just slightly. And that's good enough.
And so it came to pass, my dreams - and of course that of the Team's, Cedarians' and Cedar's - materialised. Never would I have imagined that perfect moment:
'B' Div - 2nd
'C' Div - 2nd
Cedar Athletic Team has worked too hard, too long to not clinch glory. We own all.
And then of course, there were the bad parts: But hey, dogs aren't really all that bad, especially female ones. School pride doesn't have to get in the way of your dignity. You're oh-so-not-dignified. But we are. Go suck a lollipop.
4 years have passed by. Being in the Team has become a part of me; maybe at the end of it all, I've come to realise that I cannot let it go. I'll miss the trainings and all the sprinters. We are one. And I love you all ♥
