We're one mistake from being together
But let's not ask why it's not right
You won't be seventeen forever
And we can get away with this tonight
You won't be seventeen forever
And we can get away with this tonight
Been lazy to update, recently. Too much crowding my
Holidays have zoomed past, for one. Ah well, I prolly should post about the entire week even though it's going to take a hell long time. Aaaaugh.
(Last) Friday-Sunday
PREP CAMP!! :]
It was much fun, and I must say, a good time of spiritual refreshment as well as bonding with the Christians in - and out - of SAJC. Throughout the Camp, was hanging around most with Benedict, Rach, Sam and Chesed. My Group Leader was Vincent and guess what, he's like my older brother's good friend, HAHAHA. (Apparently, studying partner, yo.) What a small world, I'd say D:
Learnt the importance and POWER of prayer, as well as fellowship. Was in the group I called "The Wanderers" 'cuz we were neither dancing nor in the band! Hence, we were assigned to help out with the Egg Factoids - don't ask me why it's such an odd name 'cuz I certainly didn't come up with it - and the wire-bending souvenirs :]
It was during the course of these Art & Craft sessions (of sorts) that I uncovered Emma's talent of being so ARTSY-FARTSY, tsk! Anyhoo, most of the time we were just being high and I think we gave Sharon a hard time. Heh, sorry.
Photos!:
Then during this Free Time slot, we all started sitting on the ledges of the second storey. Was kind of freaky, like I could fall any moment! D: Thanks to my fear of heights. But Benedict quoted from the Bible - and out of context, again! - that "He shall send His angels to surround you.." HAHAHA.
Went home with Rach on Sunday morning. Bought Macs' Breakfast, takeaway! When I reached home I just stuffed my dirty laundry into the washing machine, took a shower and crashed.
The usual.
Monday
Woke up to a good morning, pretty much. Decided to mug. (But honestly, that didn't really give me a headstart anyway 'cuz I still have more than half my assignments undone..)
Training in the afternoon. Arrived tad late by the seniors' standards - I swear I didn't know about the half-hour rule! - and guess that made me feel pretty bad ): Nevertheless, I survived training, and I think I survived it well.
Following a pact made between God & I: Training was good, only 'cuz I'd committed it to prayer. Camp had taught me much, and I was determined to see prayer in action. With each round, I gave praise to His Name and I promised to give God the glory. Praise be to God, for He delivered, once again. I am proud to say I am a Christian and that, should anyone ask how I made it, I will be a testimony for Him ♥
Tuesday
Got influenced into attending Teen Games together with the Team, instead of attending AP/GP Lecture. 'Til now, I'm still clueless about that topic but I guess the time spent together with the Soccer Girls has made it all worth the while :]
Didn't know Teen Games was organized by Singapore Youth For Christ (SYFC) until we were made to listen to a small message that was preached. Interesting, indeed. But I guess that was good; bringing our focus back to God and not just all about the Game itself.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed myself thoroughly playing with my Team mates. GO SAINTS! Sadly, no camwhorage 'cuz I forgot to bring my camera. Some of the rest took photos but I've yet to get the photos from off them ):
Team Lunch was at United Square, Novena. We settled with Pastamania. I couldn't stay to interact, though. 'Cuz I'd my braces appointment! Alas, my braces have been removed. Have been dreading this day ttm D: Gahhh, I miss them so much!
Tuesday, 11 March 2008, 1420h: The moment Ely's braces ceased to exist.
Now I think I look odd. Wonderful.
Wednesday
OG36 had a Mugging Session in school, initiated by Joleeen. Unfortunately, I'd already made plans to study with BFF, Albert and Reuben. But things took a turn for the worse when BFF had to stay home 'cuz she was unwell ):
Left with Albert and Reuben. Novena Starbucks was cold, as usual. Nyehhh. Met Kevin there as well, though. Haha, wonder why he's always there; favourite hangout of sorts. The rest of the day went by okay. Everything was in replay when we went to Fish & Co. to eat again and yada yada. (I'll save the details for my own head, thank you.)
Training got cancelled 'cuz it was pouring the entire day! D: Amazing how it can rain so much, haha.
My brother's POP from BMTC took place. It was raining and all, plus my Dad forgot to take photos of the cap-throwing! Mannn, that's like one of the most significant parts. But still, I think it's cool my brother's out of Army.. For now! Finally, the first 3 months have passed. Praise God for taking care of him, and that his 'A' Level results weren't too bad :]
Met dajie and zl for dinner. I thank God for the opportunity for us to meet; it's been 2 years now and we're still going strong, yes? The Mini Zoo! :B I love you two so much and I'm glad that y'all are doing pretty much okay. Somehow, though, we always forget to camwhore, HAHA. Takecare ♥
Thursday
Teen Games again! :]
Siyi was late, HAHA. And the night before she still could message all of us and IN CAPS, saying we've to be at Little India station at 0730h, tsk. Arica woke late as well. It was funny 'cuz Suria called her and she went, "O-M-G, I'm late!" in a very shocked/sleepy/I-just-sat-up-in-bed tone.
The wet weather was pretty bad. Coach gathered us together before the start.
Coach: Any of you brought goggles today?
Us: -Stunned- Uh, no. Why?
Coach: 'Cuz today y'all will be diving.
Us: Huh?
Coach: See the fields? Like milo!
HAHAHA. But it was true. Throughout the course of the day we got muddier and muddier. It was stinky, above all ): Ah well, can't complain 'cuz there was this NJ Keeper that kept diving in order to save the ball, that after a few matches she was brown from neck down D: Mud spa, we call it!
In the end, the games had to be called off halfway. Pretty upsetting 'cuz we didn't get to finish it. Nevertheless, we'd a helluva time playing our hearts out, bonding and even making friends with the other teams! Our SAJC seniors participated in the competition as well - those who'd won FAS National Champions last year - and I must say, they're good O: The Deyi United players became our new friends.
Despite the rain, our spirits were never dampened and I think we were the most self-entertaining group over there! Sang in the rain, kicked around and at the end of it all, even washed ourselves in the flooded longkang. We looked like those Kampong Kids (and Narmadha was the worse 'cuz she literally sat in the drain I think she looked like some poor African kiddo) so much so that Coach and the seniors couldn't stop laughing at us! :]
Wati made the best comment ever: "See, who said girls are afraid of mud?"
I went home to get my stuff washed and to take a shower. Half of the group went to Coach's office to bathe/mug and the other half did the same at Suria's. We then met at Jalan Besar stadium at 1700h to watch the Lion City Cup match - UAE vs Chinese Taipei. UAE was like imba, 'cuz by First Half they'd managed to get 2-0 against Chinese Taipei. All the Chinese Taipei players were Arica's, HAH.
Towards the end of the match the Australian players came and sat next to where we were seated, haha. Some of the guys are so cute that I think we got distracted ): Marissa somehow caught the attention of one of the guys and there was a bit of hoo-ha going on! Goodness me.
(WHATTHEPOK, I LOOK UGLYYYY)
We watched the Singapore-Australia match only 'til Half-time. Then we made our way down to Bugis' foodcourt for dinner at about 9 :] Cel informed us that training for Friday was cancelled! All the better, anyway, 'cuz our boots were terribly wet from the morning D: Went home with Arica and Cel, and I'd a good time speaking with Cel, haha.
Friday
Woke with the intention of studying but it was futile.
Spent time preparing for YF Worship. Then headed down to j8 with my parents, had Mos takeaway and went straight to Church. Met Shermaine and Serene to discuss Worship. Left Church with Serene and Zac to Jo's party, while Shermaine stayed in Church to mug with Charles 'til late!
Think the 3 of us YFers felt out-of-place at Jo's, HAHA. 'Cuz all the little guys there were like 13 year olds and the rest of us, much older D: Sam Tan couldn't make it, that pok! Abandon his QT Partner only, tsk. When Jo's parents asked us how old we were, we all burst out laughing! (Serene's old enough to be Jo's Aunt already..) D:
Jo and Zac played the guitar whilst I just watched on. Then, Jo created his Facebook account! :] HAHAHA, he'd been waiting for this day just so that he can be of age - officially - to create one. How, innocent.
Then we had the cake-cutting and birthdaysong-singing time!
Saturday
Went to Church at 12nn to meet Shermaine and get our last-minute stuff ready for Worship rehearsal at 1330h. Rehearsal was okay, thank God.
Just before Worship, Shermaine and I were really nervous ): The Worship Team said a prayer and we started. Thankfully, though, He saw us through it. I knew I was afraid 'cuz my fingers were really cold D: Nevertheless, after it was over, Joey came and told me, "Elyssa, you've a very nice manly voice. I think I'll call you more often and talk to you over the phone!" HAHAHA. Sam Kwan also spoke to me and asked me how I felt; am glad he said I didn't sound nervous and in fact, sounded like my usual self :]
After YF, had intended to join EXCO at AMK for dinner. But I'd to join my family instead, 'cuz my brother's home this weekend. Ah well. Sam Tan was supposed to teach me Econs while I waited for my Dad to come pick me from Church but that pok stole my notes at first, then distracted me by making me talk about something else and finally, went to play Captain's Ball. POK! ):
